The Oregon Math Leaders Network is a community of math educators who work together to implement and support math teaching and learning in Oregon. Participants include teacher leaders, TOSAs, program administrators, college faculty, and math community partners. If you identify as a math leader, you are invited!

The virtual meetings will continue to take place on the third Thursday of each month at 8:30 AM PT on Zoom.

Webinar: Orientation to the Updated Oregon Accelerated Learning and CTE Dashboards

This webinar provides an introduction to the Oregon Accelerated Learning and CTE Dashboards, now updated with three new years of data. Participants will learn how to use the dashboards, access available support resources, and apply data insights to inform planning and decision-making.

Accelerated Learning and CTE Data Dashboards

The Oregon accelerated learning dashboard provides participation rates of high school students in accelerated learning courses. It also compares outcomes between students who participated in accelerated learning and those who did not.

The Oregon CTE participation dashboard explores high school students’ participation in CTE programs of study across the state. CTE program providers and educators can use these data for completing comprehensive local needs assessments (CLNAs) or engaging in program improvement.

To better understand student participation in Accelerated College Credit and Career and Technical Education opportunities in Oregon, the Oregon Department of Education and Education Northwest partnered to create two data dashboards.

WHAT'S NEW IN OREGON MATHEMATICS?

Oregon Math Framework development continues, with additional opportunities for educator engagement and feedback during Fall 2026.

Updated High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) resources are available to support district adoption and implementation efforts.

Oregon’s 2026-2032 STEM Education Plan is now available. The Oregon STEM Investment Council, the Oregon Department of Education, and the Higher Education Coordinating Commission have released the revised 2026-2032 STEM Education Plan. The plan provides a shared statewide vision for expanding STEM opportunities, improving student outcomes, strengthening workforce connections, and preparing learners for Oregon's future.

AI guidance for K-12 schools has been updated and moved to a web-based format, making it easier to access the latest information and resources.

New mathematics assessment updates include progress monitoring guidance, interim test implementation supports, assessment professional learning resources, and added Patty Paper to the list of allowed manipulatives on OSAS assessments.

Together, these efforts are helping create a more coherent, equitable, and engaging mathematics experience for students across Oregon. These updates were shared in an OCTM sponsored Webinar in August (slideshow).

OSAS Mathematics Summative Data and Trends: Looking Beyond the Overall Score Webinars and Office Hours in October

As OSAS Math results become available, we have an opportunity to move beyond overall scores and explore what the data reveal about student learning. This session is designed to help educators take an informed look at available reports, identify meaningful patterns, and use those insights to guide instructional planning and professional learning during each academic year. The method to pull reports is the same for ELA and Science. Join us for a Webinar (same content in all sessions) and/or Office Hours (content depends on participants)!

Updated Assessment Professional Learning Resources

The Oregon Department of Education has updated the Assessment Professional Learning website to provide easier access to resources that support balanced, student-centered assessment practices and assessment literacy. The site features new professional learning opportunities and guidance to help educators use summative, interim, and formative assessment information appropriately to support student learning and continuous improvement.

Featured resources include:

• Effectively Using OSAS Results ODE 5-module Canvas course and guidance on the appropriate use of summative assessment results.
• Implementing OSAS Interim Assessments ODE Canvas course and guidance for using interim IAB and FIAB tests responsibly.
• Using OSAS Summative Assessment Target Report resources, including infographics, reporting guides, and webinars to support meaningful data analysis.
• Assessment literacy and progress monitoring resources for educators, leaders, families, and communities.

Math Standards Webpage Update

The Oregon Math Standards web pages have been this summer as part of a broader effort to create a consistent look and feel across all Oregon content standards pages, but the standards are the same.

We are excited to share the refreshed Math Standards homepage, which can be accessed with this link.

Please note that the K-5 mathematics standards have moved to a shared Pre-K to Grade 5 standards page, available with this link.

New Statewide Surveys Newsletter

ODE and OHA are excited to announce the launch of a Statewide Surveys newsletter, designed to keep district leaders and educators informed about school surveys in Oregon. The newsletter is released quarterly throughout the school year. Our goal is to make it easier to stay connected and understand how the survey results support decision-making for Oregon schools. The newsletter includes links to the SEED Survey page with math lesson resources, including a back-to-school lesson using SEED Survey data! Sign up to receive the newsletter!
