OCTM is an NCTM Affiliate. {Other regional affilliates: Washington State Mathematics Council, Puget Sound Council of Teachers of Mathematics, British Columbia Association of Mathematics Teachers} NCTM Illuminations has resources for teaching and learning mathematics for grades pre-K—12, including lessons and interactive tools searchable by NCTM’s Principles and Standards and by the Common Core State Standards. Principles to Actions, NCTM’s landmark publication, describes specific, research-based teaching practices and core principals that are essential for a high-quality mathematics education for all students. NCTM Classroom Resources, which became part of NCTM in 2015, provides resources, materials, activities, person-to-person interactions, and educational products and services to support K-12 math education. The National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM)is a mathematics leadership organization for educational leaders that provides professional learning opportunities necessary to support and sustain improved student achievement. Teachers of Teachers of Math (TOTOM) is an organization that is dedicated to providing a forum for people involved in the training of mathematics teachers. WolframAlpha is a free “computational knowledge engine." GeoGebra mathematics software handles functions, geometry, algebra, calculus, statistics, and 3-D math. GXWeb is a free, interactive tool for building algebra and geometry models, with no account required. GXWeb teams well with Desmos and WolframAlpha. The desktop version of Geometry Expressions has additional features and a free trial. National Library of Virtual Mathematics (NLVM) offers a variety of virtual manipulatives.
